World's Biggest Dogs

They say a dog is loyal to its owner until the
end and will do everything to keep their
master happy. Because of this reason, dogs
are loved and adored everywhere in the
world.
Some people like small dogs, whereas others
like big dogs who could accompany them on
a morning walk and give security by
intimidating anyone who is thinking of doing
anything wrong. Without further delay, let’s
have a look at the five largest dog breeds in
the world.

Anatolian Shepherd

This breed of dog originated in Anatolia,
Turkey and developed in the USA, hence the
name Anatolian Shepherd. This dog is tough,
huge, and super strong with an excellent
hearing ability and clear vision.
Farmers use it as a guardian of their
livestock as this dog can catch any predator
with its super-fast speed and flexibility. The
average life of an Anatolian Shepherd is
around ten years.

Perro De Presa
Canario

It is also sometimes known as the Canary
Mastiff. It is a large dog bred originally for
working livestock. Males can weigh up to 50
kg, while its female counterpart weighs
around 45 kg.
This dog is known to be aggressive towards
strangers and other dogs, and it could attack
them. On average, these dogs live for around
9-11 years.
They are not allowed in Australia and New
Zealand as there have been instances of the
dog attacking people and injuring or killing
them.

Neapolitan Mastiff

Sometimes known as Mastino, it is a huge
and old breed of dog. It is often used as
guardians and bodyguards of family
members and belongings as it is naturally
protective and can look very intimidating.
An average male Mastino weighs about 60
to 70 kg. These dogs are highly intelligent
and pick things quickly.
However, they are very short-tempered.
Hence, they require proper socialization
because they could harm strangers due to
their protective nature.

Dogue De Bordeaux

Also known as French Mastiff, it is a huge
Mastiff breed of French origin. It is very
strong and has a muscular physique.
These dogs were used in the past as
protectors of castles of Europe’s elite
families. They have enough strength to pull
carts and move heavy things.
The French Mastiff weighs around 50 kg for
males and 45 kg for their female
counterparts. The Dogue de Bordeaux has a
shorter life of 5 to 6 years with the oldest
breed ever living for 12 years.

Newfoundland Dog

It is a huge working dog with its origin in
Canada. These dogs are extremely loyal,
possess super strength, and are highly
intelligent.
They are used by fishermen and lifeguards
because they are excellent swimmers thanks
to their webbed feet and swimming abilities.
These dogs can live up to 10 years.
However, they have a common heart defect,
which can cause them to die prematurely.

Bella Hadid showed off her enviable figure in a boob-baring tracksuit

The 19-year-old flashed a little more flesh than
she was hoping for as she walked the red carpet
at Wednesday night's Cannes Film Festival
screening of The Unknown Girl.
Her skimpy red dress, which had a seriously high
slit all the way up to her hip, flew to the side in
the windy weather and gave onlookers a glimpse
of her sexy underwear underneath.
Never one to let these things get her down
though, Bella oozed confidence last night as she
put on yet another revealing display, walking
down the catwalk in a boob-baring outfit.
Bella definitely stole the show as she went
completely topless in the daring tracksuit, which
consisted of an open metallic jacket - that
showed off her washboard stomach and cleavage
- and a pair of matching trousers.

PEOPLE COMMENTS AND WRITE UP AGAINST THE RESCUED CHIBOK GIRL SAGA.

“The great mystery is why the foreign media who are reporting this saga are not asking pertinent questions? Like how come a student who was said to be sitting for O’level physics cannot communicate in even pidgin English? How come this rescued girl has been given three different identities by her parents, the army and the shady principal? Are there no official photos of her and other girls so we can compare, students sitting for WAEC must have submitted passport size photos?

That rescue was right on time, as a diversionary tactics from the economic woes and strangulation facing the Country,.and also preparatory to GMB's one year in office.

Who says Buhari is not blessed as right there on air as the  president of Oil and Tourism, he continues to plot the graph to finish Boko Haram , rescue chibok Girls and pad the budget and petrol price.

Who says this man does not know the type of poison Nigerians need at every particular time?

If the girl in this picture with the little child just landed from that Sambisa forest, with all the bombings and shootings by the Nigerians military, yet she was rescued unhurt with a little child, my humble advise would be for her to be returned to her humble abode in Sambisa Forest as to show many Nigerians the way. That forest, surly is  heaven on earth and by far better than Nigeria were everybody have turned to wailing wailers.

It is now obvious that APC will never stop or be stopped to prove their professionalism in lies , propaganda and total deceit.

Trump Ready To meet Kim Jung-On Over Nukes

Donald Trump has said he would be prepared to meet Kim Jong-Un and speak to him about scaling back North Korea's nuclear ambitions.

"I would speak to him, I would have no problem speaking to him," he told the Reuters news agency

Asked whether he would try to talk some sense into the North Korean leader, Mr Trump replied: "Absolutely."

North Korea's mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Mr Trump's remarks.

Mr Trump, 69, also said he would press China, Pyongyang's only major diplomatic and economic supporter, to help find a solution.

News presenter Megyn Kelly, Mr Trump also admitted he has "regrets" and could have used "different language in a couple of instances" during his controversial White House campaign.

The presumptive nominee defended his combative style, calling himself a "counter-puncher" and insisting that if he had been less aggressive then he would not have been so successful.

It was the first time that Kelly and Mr Trump had faced each other since a feisty exchange in a television debate back in August 2015, when Kelly challenged Trump about some of the offensive words he had used to describe women he didn't like.

The property tycoon implied she was treating him badly, tweeting later that she was a "bimbo" and a "lightweight", and then in a phone interview infamously commenting that the journalist asked him tough questions because she had "blood coming out of her wherever".

In this latest interview, Kelly asked him about why he had re-tweeted some of the offensive messages his fans had posted about her.

A boyish, slightly embarrassed Trump emerged.

"Ooops, excuse me," he said.

"Over your life you've been called a lot worse Megyn," he went on.

But Kelly wasn't to be diverted.

"It's not about me, it's about the messaging, to young girls, to other women," she shot back.

Kelly asked why he was offended by her question in the first place.

Mr Trump said: "I thought it was unfair … I thought it was more of a statement … I had never debated before."

Kelly replied that the debate was "not a cocktail party".

That Mr Trump granted an interview with a woman he has been attacking for nine months marks an interesting departure.

His nomination as the Republican party's standard bearer is almost assured.

But his track record with women has left him vulnerable to attack.

A pro Hillary Clinton group has just released an ad that shows women lip-synching to Mr Trump’s most controversial comments.

Polls have revealed that a large majority of women view the billionaire unfavourably.

And national newspapers like the New York Times are starting to publish stories and interviews with women who describe their experiences with Mr Trump - not all of them flattering.

The Kelly interview offered a high profile chance to start to repair some of that damage.

And of course, Megyn Kelly had much to gain too - attention for the launch of her prime time show and newly-written book.

But even if relations between the two now appear improved, the last comment of their conversation revealed that Trump doesn’t mind who he offends along the way.

All he really cares about is closing the deal.

He said: "If I don’t go all the way and I don’t win I will consider it to be a complete waste of time, energy and money

First Kidnapped Chibok Schoolgirl Found

The first of 219 girls kidnapped by the Islamist terror group Boko Haram in 2014 has been found alive, the Nigerian army has said.

"This is to confirm that one of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls ... was among rescued persons by our troops," army spokesman Colonel Sani Usman said in a statement.

Activists named her as Amina Ali Darsha Nkeki. They quoted her saying that her schoolmates were still in the Sambisa forest, Boko Haram's biggest stronghold.

She was discovered in Baale, near the town of Damboa, 90km (56 miles) southwest of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

Hungry serena eats dog food.

Serena Williams has revealed she made herself ill after eating dog food just hours before she stormed through to the quarter-final of the Italian Open.

The world number one confessed to an urgent toilet visit after sampling some of her pet dog Chip's food in a video posted on Snapchat.

Williams posted a video showing the salmon and rice dish she ordered for her Yorkshire Terrier at their hotel in Rome.

"I thought 'what the heck, I'm gonna try a piece.' It looks good. So I ate a spoonful. Don't judge me!" Williams said.

"Let's fast forward two hours. I just ran to the toilet like I thought I was gonna pass out.

"I mean it did taste weird. I force-swallowed it. It tasted kind of like house-cleaner thing. I don't know what they put in these dog foods, but Chip liked it

"But I don't think it's consumable for humans. They should have wrote that! So now I feel really sick. It was just a spoonful but I don't feel so good."

She recovered in time to beat fellow American Christina McHale 7-6 (7), 6-1 in the third round on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Chip appeared to be fine as he watched Williams from her player's box.

Prince memorial held at Jehovah's witness hall

Prince's protege Sheila E and members of his band 3rdEyeGirl were among the hundreds who remembered the late pop icon at a private ceremony at his church near Minneapolis.

Mourners dressed in black could be seen entering the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness temple in the suburb of Minnetonka on Sunday.

The service was closed to media but local television station KARE quoted the printed programme as saying that the star "found great joy and satisfaction in sharing the things he learned from the Bible with others".

Prince was baptised as a Jehovah's Witness in 2003 and was reported to have even knocked on doors in his hometown to distribute religious literature.

The singer, who was known for his on-stage vigour and healthy diet, died suddenly on 21 April at his Paisley Park estate in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen.

His family gathered there two days later when his body was cremated, according to the singer's representatives.

But his sister, Tyka Nelson, said on Friday she did not consider that "intimate gathering" to have been his funeral and that the family was still planning a public event.

"The proposed plan is to have our Memorial/Funeral/Tribute in August," she wrote on Facebook, adding that Prince's remains would be present at the forthcoming event.

"Prince and his music influenced so many people that we feel inspired to celebrate his life and legacy in just the right way," she wrote.

Investigators have not released a cause of death for Prince, but doctors were treating him for a dependence on painkillers.

SINEAD O'CONNOR found after declared missing!

Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has been found safe after she was reported missing by a caller amid concerns for her welfare, Illinois police say.

A dispatcher at the police department in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette told Sky News: "Sinead O'Connor has been found and she is safe and okay."

The police department had earlier said it was seeking to "check the well-being" of the singer after an unidentified caller expressed concern for her.

O'Connor was recently sued for libel

Police said she had left the Wilmette area for a bicycle ride yesterday at 6am and had not returned.

The 49-year-old singer had recently posted Facebook messages about an apparent custody dispute involving her sons.

In November last year, O'Connor suggested on social media that she had taken an overdose at a hotel somewhere in Ireland, accusing family members of "appalling cruelty", but she was later found safe.

A month later, she posted on Facebook that she was undergoing a mental health evaluation at a hospital.

It is not known why the mother-of-four is in Wilmette, an affluent community along the shores of Lake Michigan.

She recently said she planned to demonstrate in North Carolina, which has passed a bathroom law that critics say targets transgender people.

O'Connor was sued this month in a $5m libel lawsuit after she suggested comedian Arsenio Hall had provided drugs to the late pop singer Prince.

Prince, who died on 21 April, wrote O'Connor's 1990 hit ballad Nothing Compares 2 U.

Paradigm Talent Agency, which represents O'Connor, did not immediately comment on Monday's reports.

The singer-songwriter - who has been married four times - is known for her shaved head as much as for her outspoken views.

She made headlines in 1992 when she tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II during a live appearance on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

Two years earlier some US radio stations boycotted her music after she banned the Star-Spangled Banner from one of her shows in New Jersey.

GOBE! NLC promises to continue strike protest.

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), that has commenced a strike over hike in fuel price on May 18, Wednesday, has praised its members for turning out “encase”.

Premium Times reports that the union commended those who supported the strike, for taking action “in spite of teething challenges”.

It said: “We salute their courage, patriotism and sacrifice in the face of overwhelming acts of threats and treachery.”

“Thus, in pursuance of the mandate given by the NEC of the Congress in conjunction with our Civil Society allies, the protest continues tomorrow.

“Accordingly, we urge you to mobilise your members, friends or colleagues for the continuation of the protest tomorrow.

“You are requested to assemble at Berger Roundabout tomorrow at 7 a.m.

“For those who are yet to join the strike action, we similarly urge you to muster the necessary courage to be part of this historic struggle in defence of yourself, the weak and the vulnerable.

In the statement signed by Peter Ozo-Eson, NLC’s secretary general, the union added: “No level of comfort today or primordial sentiments should blind us to the cruel realities of the increase in the pump price of the petroleum products as what we are seeing is just the beginning.”

The action had little effect on normal daily activities in several states on May 18. However, full compliance was recorded only in a several states.

The congress members were protesting over the increase of fuel price by the government of President Buhari.

The National Industrial Court had ordered that the strike should not go ahead because of the risk of civil disorder.

LABOUR treats to embark on their planned strike!!!

The labour unions are threatening to go ahead with their planned strike action
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has vowed to go ahead with its scheduled nationwide strike on today, May 18 after walking out of the meeting held with the representatives of the Federal Government.

NLC said they were angered by the decision of the Federal Government to proceed to court, despite existing negotiation which was at the instance of the government.

The action of the NLC followed the failure of the parties to resolve the dispute over the increase of the pump price of petroleum by the Federal Government from N86.50 to N145 per litre.

Recall that over the weekend, organised labour and the civil society gave the Federal Government till midnight on Tuesday to reverse the increase or face an indefinite national strike.

While the NLC said it was not aware of the court order stopping the strike, the Trade Union Congress flayed the Federal Government for obtaining it.

“I am not aware of any court injunction. As far as I am concerned, I am not aware of any court injunction,” the general secretary of the NLC, Dr Peter Ozo-Eson, told Punch newspaper.

On its part, the President of the TUC, Mr Bala Kaigama said: “That is what we are going to the meeting to find out. Who instituted that? So, we would find out if it is going to stop our negotiations. They are doing it through panic.  I think they are scared. We have not been served. Can you talk of what you have not seen?” he asked.

The NIC in its ruling on Tuesday, May 17 stopped the TUC and the NLC from embarking on their planned strike scheduled to start on Wednesday.

But Speaking to newsmen after the meeting with labour leaders, secretary to the government of the federation, Mr Babachir Lawal said: “The National Industrial Court has given an injunction that no strike by NLC and TUC should hold tomorrow (Wednesday). It is therefore clear that anyone embarking on strike tomorrow (Wednesday) is doing so illegally and government is assuring all Nigerians to come out and do their jobs tomorrow (Wednesday).

Nigerian fuel battle.

Nigeria fuel battle: Strike expected as talks over petrol price rises reach stalemate

Nigerian labour union and civil society groups announced they are to go ahead with their planned strike on Wednesday (18 May 2016) after talks with the federal government on increased petrol prices reached a stalemate. Earlier in May, Nigeria scrapped petrol subsidies by increasing prices by two-thirds in a bid to curb an ongoing fuel shortage, exacerbated by a foreign exchange crisis.

A litre of petrol now costs 145 naira (50p), up from about 86.5 naira (30p). However, the move has angered many, with trade and labour unions labelling the decision "criminal" and calling for the strike.

Talks between the unions and the federal government started on 16 May and are expected to continue. However, Abiodun Aremu, secretary general of the labour and civil society coalition, said the government must backtrack on the price hike before an agreement can be reached.

"There is no way that any discussion now with the government will affect the strike except there is a reversal, because the government did not consult with us before it unilaterally impose the act," he said, according to Voice of America.

He added that the coalition would announce its plan of action for the strike on Tuesday (17 May).

The government justified its decision to increase petrol prices as a way to end fuel scarcity. "Many have been asking why this would happen at this time and what triggered the decision concerning the new framework for petrol products supply, distribution and pricing," Alhaji Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, told reporters in the capital Abuja.

"Gentlemen, we have no choice than to liberalise the price of petrol, if we are to end the crippling fuel scarcity that has enveloped the country, ensure the availability of the products and end the suffering of our people over the lingering scarcity," he continued.

Peter Walker, a UK-based senior consultant, told IBTimes UK that removing oil subsidy in Nigeria was a crucial first step towards tackling corruption and stabilising fuel prices.

Nigeria's oil subsidy explained

Nigeria is Africa's biggest oil producer, but its lack of refineries mean that the country has to export about 90% of its crude oil and import back petroleum products at international prices. The government then sells fuel to Nigerians at subsidised rates and reimburses the difference to importers.

Nigeria announced in May that petrol prices would rise to 145 naira, up from about 86.5 naira. The prolonged fuel scarcity in the country meant that Nigerians were already paying prices considerably higher – up to 250 naira – than the the price established after the subsidy was scrapped.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who took office in May 2015, has often been urged to end oil subsidy and privatise the country's oil refineries, so that the state would not spend money on yearly maintenance programmes. In July 2015, three out of the four refineries in Nigeria resumed production after undergoing a restructuring programme.

In 2012, the previous administration led by Goodluck Jonathan, attempted to end subsidies by doubling the price of a litre of petrol overnight, angering citizens who argued that low prices were the only benefits they enjoyed from the oil-rich nation. The government subsequently made U-turn on its decision following violent protests.
